How Teams Are Formed
OUSC can field only as many teams as it has coaches. OUSC coaches are volunteers and are often a parent of one of the players on the team. Registrants can indicate a Team, Coach, or Player preference on the electronic registration form. Unless otherwise requested, teams are typically formed by school attended. There are no 'hard borders' in youth soccer and OUSC is happy to serve people from outside our typical service area. However, if, for example, you are from Lacey or Tumwater and are new to OYSC, it may be difficult for us to place your child with schoolmates. Please click here for information on our service area.
Players that request a team they've played on previously, AND REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE, are always placed onto that team. At the registration deadline, which is May 2, 2010, any new or miscellaneous players that have registered on time are placed onto teams of the appropriate age and gender that have spots available. After the registration deadline, late registrants are placed onto teams based on their order of registration and the placement guidelines described above, provided there are still spots available on the appropriate teams.
